The Product categories code list divides products into a tree of categories. A category can also have several parent categories.
You find product categories in the menu Other → Code lists → Product categories. For a category you enter “Name”, “Category identifier”, “Parent category” and images in the “Attachments” section. In the category detail you see the parent categories, child categories and products, and for a category without a parent category also the sibling categories. You change the order of categories by dragging with the mouse (with the corresponding right).
When you delete a category, its products remain, only without this category. Its child categories stop having this parent category (if they have no other one, they become root categories) and the category's images are deleted.
